Before you are able to start using your cameras with Nirovision, they will first need to be activated. Cameras also need to be activated after being factory reset.

When it comes to Hikvision cameras, there are multiple ways to activate a new camera for the first time.

Activate a camera using the SADP Tool

01 - Find the Inactive camera

All of the cameras currently on the same network as your computer will be displayed when the SAPD Tool is open. You will need to wait until the camera has fully turned on before the camera appears on the list, which usually takes a few minutes.

Any cameras yet to be activated will have Inactive in the Status field. The IP address will show as 192.168.1.64 or 192.0.0.64, regardless of the IP addresses usually assigned by your router.

02 - Choose a password to activate

To begin activating the camera, click on the check box next to the desired camera. The Activate The Device panel will immediately appear on the right side of your screen.
